Accessing the Data Dictionary

You access the APPX Data Dictionary, Data Elements and Structures, from the main design menu or from various Toolbox menus includes options to edit each dictionary component, domains, files/fields, and work fields. Each of the Data Dictionary options is described in detail in the chapters that follow. Physical File Management is covered in Database Management, of the System Management Manual.

Database Management

If a Data Element is changed the data dictionary must be processed.  Appx will automatically process the element you modified or add.  Processing will detect and report syntax errors which you can review and correct before proceeding.  If you wish to manually process the Data Dictionary you can do so from the Tools tab.  See below.
